CALLING ON THE MAU MAU From: Cocker Midamba Where are the brave, Once I had he guts to take part in violent demonstrations.I was very active during the late 80-s and 90-s.I very actively engaged the police in fights over multi partism and later land clashes even though members of my community were least affected and given my poverty status,I had little to loose.I still have little to loose I remember marching from Kenyatta University towards Kahawa Barracks,I was ready to fight the Army armed with stones, over the death of kikuyus in Molo and Enosopukia. After a few hours of running battles, the forces ran out of tear gas canisters and bullets. We went over to talk to them. The commandant was a Kikuyu who told me he had lost relatives in Molo. How professional our forces are even to this very day.But when you lose loved ones the situation can change. The question I kept asking was WHERE WERE THE KIKUYUS????not many kikuyus take part in such ventures.I Remember some of my stone throwing buddies throwing stones that shattered police shields and even killed a police horse in the name of helping our kikuyu friends.Trust me luos were never affected by land clashes. Most of thos on my side our be Kisii's,Luhyas etc. Afew years later, after we got tired of locals from a village next to KU, (KM) stealing our stuff at KU, WE ENGAGED THEM IN A 3 DAY BATTLE.Please note that they had the police on their side. Its interesting that on one night, just 3 of us,a tall friend of mine, beat up anybody we could find while walking back from a drinking spree in that village.Infact this close friend of mine should have been expelled from University but God had mercy. If it wasn't for a few friends including our church leader who was Kikuyu, I think I would have gone back to my old ways. I was then a tout in Dandora and everytime I faced up to the so called Mungiki back then,I prevailed.Where are the BRAVE? The truth is, when push comes to shove, these guys need our protection. They live all over Kenya, nobody lives or does business in Kikuyu land. But those within our areas, need our protection.Trust me Kibaki wont help.He doesn't keep his promises, not to Mungiki, Narc Kenya not even with his own Party DP. Kikuyus need our protection, they have always done since the death of the brave Mau Mau. Lets pray for them because even within the forces there are very many Kales who have a very bad temper. If theGovt should retaliate in Kale land, then that's the end of Kenya.Again I say, I my poverty,I have little to loose. Lastly,to all you cowards that stay at home when the poor take to the streets to fight, shame on you.I wish I was around. We will continue having a colonial internal security miniter who doesn't care when Kikuyus kill kikuyus in the name of mungiki,we have Anglo leasing to stay, a first lady who slaps at will and a host of other corruption incidences. A finance Minister who thinks Raila only understands the fish market.A thankless president who preaches peace but calls us Mavi ya kuku. Prayer does not substitute duty.If I need bread, give it to me,no use praying for me.We are duty bound to ask plead and beg members of our communities to stop killing the innocent not prayers.God wont listen. Shame on all of us but remember, five years is a short time. Re: Amani Kenya Dear all, Sorry I forgot to attach the final version of the petition The violence rocking the country is not a joking matter and all those who want peace must make a deliberate decision to back a formula that can bring peace! Kibaki is in power and there is no peace! Insisting on his stay in power cannot bring peace in the short term. That is why we are petitioning the interneational community to bring pressure on him to step down and allow the people's presdent to take over as we arganise for a new vote. Secondly, I have received overwelming request from those who missed to sign the EU Petition which has been delivered. I will advice everyone who is non-aligned and values peaceful co-existence to proceed and sign the online petition at this link http://www.gopetition.com/online/15969.html Proceed with speed to prevent the country from any further violence and a possible genocide! sebastian Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
