THE MASSACRE OF THE LUOS Dear readers, The photos contained here are extremely graphic and should be viewed with discretion. It is with deep sadness but with a real sense of duty that we post these pictures. This is the face of war and we must look upon it squarely. Our hope is that, having viewed these pictures, we can all work toward a solution to the crisis that is both peaceful and just. Sincerely yours, Jaluo Press ---------------------------- Date: Tue, 29 Jan 2008 17:23:37 +0300 From: George The pictures on the attachment are very disturbing! This is too painful. Our community is being victimised / BURNT in closed rooms in Naivasha during the riot two days ago, in the face of the police who were very friendly to the perpetrators, neither teargas, nor gunshots in the air. At the same scene a young Luo man forced out of Akamba bus that was heading to western Kenya and faced cruelty of a group of Kiyuyus and died instantly in the eyes of other passengers, another who was forced and identified himself as otieno, got flashed out of a matatu, slashed, fell down, rose up and tried to cross the road with full face covered with blood and got crashed by a speeding motorist. ...........and atieno whose husband works at one of the flower farms in Naivasha was found alone in her one roomed house in Naivasha town and faced her death in front of her baby...see picture.............................. While the other time during skirmishes in Nyanza and western Kenya ................ all non indigenous community (kikuyus) who were caught in those regions received special treatment where we saw most of them being airlifted from Kisumu, Muhoroni, Kakamega, etc to Nairobi. Special army Lorries gave escorts to them out of the troubled regions. As at now, do you know that our fellow Luos are locked into small unknown camps within central province especially in Tigoni, Limuru, Nyeri, EMBU, Kiambu, Muranga etc and nobody attends to their cries for help while heavy relief support are channelled to Kikuyu infested camps. And what government can do to them is collection of dead bodies from those camps on a daily basis. Devastating indeed! Witness! - George Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
