Museveni Troops are in Nyanza Province, Kenya From: Georgie Kerayi Wed, 2 Jan 2008 15:54:36 +0300 Initially when I read this report in Jaluo.com, it seemed far fetched, some kind of propaganda or simply unrealistic. But my interviews with residents of Obunga, Nyawita, Kondele, Migosi and Manyatta have since confirmed this. That these para-military men have no command of Kiswahili. In so far as it is well known in Kenya, the common language of the general public, and in particular the armed forces and police is Kiswahili. I have friends in Uganda who have confessed to me that they abhor Kiswahili and in their country, it is regarded as the language of the thieves and robbers. The recent report that Museveni men are in Kenya coupled with the report that ruthless, non-Kiswahili speaking armed men have been seen in action in several parts of Kisumu cannot all be made up. The big question: Under what circumstance can soldiers from outside Kenya be deployed to kill the rioters in Kisumu before our own soldiers are deployed? Don't Kenyan soldiers have the courage to kill their own brothers? Or, what is the big mystery between Kenya and Uganda, or between Museveni and Kibaki? Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
