Thu, 31 Jan 2008 RE: DEMAND UN PEACEKEEPERS IN KENYA NOW
The following are letters from jaluo.com readers who have taken up the cause and demanded UN peacekeepers in Kenya. On behalf of all Kenyans, we commend them for their efforts. If you have not done so, PLEASE DEMAND A UN OR NATO PEACEKEEPING FORCE IN KENYA TODAY! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Thu, 31 Jan 2008 08:50:57 +0300 To: libya@un.int, uk@un.int, jaluo@jaluo.com Cc: bfaun@undp.org, southafrica@un.int Subject: PEACE KEEPING FORCE IN KENYA Dear All, It is my humble request to put this matter to your immediate attention. We know you can help this situation and that is why we are addressing this important issue to you. The problem in Kenya can not and will not be solved by H.E. KOFI ANAN and we need you to arrange for the peacekeeping force to take over in Kenya while immediate solutions are being looked into. The biggest problem in is not tribal, ethnic or presidential election result but it is about leadership. Kibaki's leadership has let Kenyan down and his system of hands off and sitting by the fence while important issues like constitution, corruption and resources distribution are carelessly handled by his cronies to serve their own personal interests. Kenyans are tired of this kind of leadership and that is why they voted overwhelming to remove these cronies and Kibaki. It is LEADERSHIP! LEADERSHIP! Please try to help Kenya to build strong institutions. The people of Kenya may not have the voice and the sophistication to express their cruel and barbaric experiences they are now subjected to. I wish to express here that we are hurting and we need help right now without delay. Our government has completely ignored its responsibility to protect its people. The security apparatus is made up of Kenyans who have seriously been compromised along the lines of tribes. It is therefore a dysfunctional affiliation that only exists for the sake of drawing salary. No law and order can exist in Kenya anymore. As a Kenyan, I have witnessed in the past a high level of insecurity even when we were categorized as peaceful. This insecurity has grown exponentially to unimaginable and indescribable proportions. A UN peace keeping initiative will be our respite now. As an informed Kenyan, I believe with all my heart that if your dignified office acted on this begging matter, there will be immense success. I know it because I have seen it work elsewhere. Kenya’s communication system is not very developed as may be assumed. There are areas that no form of communication can reach and these areas are vast. The media can only highlight about 10% of what is really happening. The truth is that systematic killing is going on and soon the story will be too gory to be told. I plead with your dignified office, on behalf of the Kenyan people, that you give this matter utmost priority so that history will judge us fairly for acting swiftly to save a nation. Sillah ------------------------ Thu, 31 Jan 2008 15:25:31 +0200 To: southafrica@un.int Cc: bfaun@undp.org, libya@un.int, USUNPublicAffairs@state.gov, uk@un.int, jaluo@jaluo.com Subject: UN Peace Keepers Required in Kenya The situation in Kenya may spill out of control if not checked. The common man is so angry and is ready to die if democracy is not restored in Kenya. For such democracy to be re-planted, germinate and flourish, we need a peaceful environment. This kind of peaceful environment, has defeated the political leaders and the Law enforcers in Kenya to achieve. Most of the Law enforcers have taken sides in the political divide, with majority being on the government's side. This has led to loss of lives, destruction of property worth millions of shillings, loss of jobs and businesses and humanitarian crisis. In such a situation we call upon the United Nations to deploy UN peace keepers to Kenya. UN peace keepers will be seen as a neutral body. This will ensure that law and order is maintained to the benefit of the common Kenyan. This is my humble call. Thanks. - Benard Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
