RE: LARA

Dear Onyango,

We ran the LARA story at the request of one of our readers.  While it may be old news to you, the fact of the matter is that there are a number of people who have just encountered LARA.  Our reader is one such person.  He noted, with dread, that LARA was popping up on the same day in a number of sites, one of them notoriously biased (the African Press blog) and another more reputable site (StocksKenya.com).

Incidentally, just as this reader sent us this appeal to stop LARA in her tracks, another kind soul sent us the gift of LARA.  This further convinced us that LARA is being propagated everywhere.  We decided to reprint LARA in all her spamlike glory and to give our reader a chance to desconstruct her "points," dull, fine, and repetitive.

On a more serious note, we really do believe in freedom of speech and in giving all of our readers the opportunity to express themselves...provided that this expression does not resort to hate speech or vulgarity.  We hope that you won't hold LARA against us.  We'd much rather have dinner with you any day.
