THE UNITED STATES' AGENDA IN KENYA Thanks Elly and others for this poll. Please forgive my using 12 key wap phone to reply without proper format. I suggested to Shailja Patel, who moderated the press conference recently with the Kenya Human Rights Commission at the Grand Regency - which was denied air time on tv, by the way -.... I told Shailja that the Americans are behind Kibaki all the way because they fear Raila's higher moral authority. They are happy with the violence and have endorsed the Kibaki government. Hanneburger is good at acting like a bozo but the whole travesty was contrived perfectly. Well maybe they just missed out the national anthem at the swearing in ceremony - who said that that was because the president needed to quickly go for a wee-wee? Anyway, I suspected this was how it was intended to pan out. Now Africa command has a free entry and any innocent soul can be arrested and made to disappear. If Raila makes the mistake of working closely with some of these fuddy-duddies or their proteges can he survive an attempt to compromise his security? Anyway, civil tensions are a good excuse for Africa command to come here and dig their heels in, and there's naught you or I can do about it. Effectively we have become a police state so be ready to exchange your name for a number. Mohamed ------------- What I see here is a situation involving President Bush personally. He is a champion and has demonstrated that people must be given a chance to participate in good democratic governance. He has feelings for humanity and in relation to rare situations, he has worked hard towards improving refugee programs here in the USA against odds. He is the only leader who has confronted dictators like Kibaki. Our best bet is to approach him urgently and request Bush to press upon Kibaki. Because, Kibaki is now provoking Kenyan locals and sympathizers to a point people will react differently. He is pushing everybody to the edge so he can throw Kenya into civil war for him to destroy all evidence and create room to run out of the country. He definitely knows he cannot rule under the surrounding circumstances and equally that he cannot govern - in otherwords, he will be a disfunctional President. His only option to cover his mess is to create an uncalled for situation, to announce a state of emergency and confirm Civil War in the making. President Bush must give him a prescription that like Sadam Hussein's. Kibaki and his allies do not understand a gentle way of doing things, they will not budge unless a stronger arm, like that of President Bush, points at him. People, give a signal and let's get moving. Time is against us. Judy ______ Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
