YOKE OF FOREIGN AID IS ON EVERY
KENYAN NECK Quote The European Union warned it would cut aid to Kenya unless Kibaki and Odinga, who claims he was robbed of victory, showed they were seeking a solution to the crisis. Commonwealth chief Don McKinnon said he was disturbed by the continuing post-election violence but said most members wanted to help Kenya out of its turmoil rather than suspend it from their club. He admitted that "clearly real problems" persisted despite Annan's mediation efforts but said in an interview in Washington: "No one who has been there so far has made any difference." Unquote Kenya has depended on foreign aids since 1963. Kibaki has been in the government since 1963. He was the finance minister for a long time. Moi's 24 years reign of terror went on while the so called foreign aids were pouring in. Kibaki was also part of that Moi's reign of terror. Kibaki took the presidency in 2002. Can these two guys tell Kenya why foreign aids continues to date? Can Amos Kimunya tell Kenyans why Kenya is incapable of weening itself of the yoke of foreign aids despite claims of economic growth, booming stock market and tourism? THESE PEOPLE MUST TELL KENYANS THE REASONS BEHIND FOREIGN AID AFTER 40 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE. WHY DOES WEST USE IT A THREAT AGAINST KENYANS? WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF IT WAS CUT OFF? - Lucia Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
