RE: PEACE PRAYERS FOR KENYA ?? Dear Countrymen and All Religious Leaders, I was glad to note that today Sunday, 6th January, 2008 was a day of prayer for peace in Kenya. As a religious person who subscribes to the Christian faith and respects other faiths, I find this to be in order and a good thing. However, it is sometimes important to realize that God has given us intellect and wisdom to make judgments and take responsibility for our actions. We should not abuse the power of prayer or try to play games with God, for he says in His word: “God is not mocked” Let us take responsibility for our actions and realize that we brought this wanton destruction on ourselves through the action of stealing an election. Let’s begin from that premise. It was considered by those who perpetuated this act that their stay in power was much more important than all the lives of Kenyans put together plus their property and heritage. The school that subscribes to the notion that a Luo should not lead Kenya. Who decreed so?? We will get them pout of that school and send them to a college of a new dispensation for Kenya; the rightful heritage of our children. Proverbs 21: 30 – 31 30 – There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD. 31 – The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD. This is advice to our religious and spiritual leaders, let us not make noise but pray concisely and objectively, thus: “Our Heavenly Father, touch the heart of Kibaki that it may soften and make him relinquish the presidential seat that he usurped illegally from the people of Kenya so that peace may return to our beloved country immediately.” Simple and clear. What is the wailing and long prayers about?? We know the problem, so let’s speak to the problem head on!! Speak to the mountain! Our wailing and circumventing of the issue will not stop the bloodshed and insecurity in the country. Pastor Owuor prophesied these matters two years ago and we have literally been in sackcloth and ash ever since that time (The Repent Kenya National Initiative). It has even made some people question our sanity as Kenyans, are we fanatics? Is our God deaf?? No! Is our God blind? No! Is our God ignorant of the facts? No! And God commanded Joshua: (You could say, shouted at Joshua:) Paraphrased: “Get up and stop wailing in the dust. You cannot capture the city of Ai as long as you have sin in your midst. One of you, Achan, has done what I told you not to do, he stole the precious jewels and clothing and hid it in his tent!” ……… (Joshua 7:10-12) Who is Achan in Kenya? Kimaragoli transliteration: (“Tura muruguchi mwugaragara yimu, mwiranyie ichamwakwiva haraka! Mungoyanyia niriyoga rya woi, woi! Woi, woi kitu gani?!”) God’s ear is not too deaf to hear, nor is His hand too short to save. (Isiah) We should all remember that things started going wrong for Kibaki, not on 28th December, 2007; but from January of 2003 when he reneged on the MOU – a COVENANT he signed with his colleagues and had been PRAYED over by Kalonzo Musyoka. And this is also the other reason that we are using to warn Kalonzo, going to bed with Kibaki? Don’t even think about it. The wrath of God shall be upon you and your people in ach and every corner of Kenya! And the curse of their blood shall hound you, your children and offspring, for three generations. Ecclesiastes 5:4 – 7 God is not mocked. Let us not be like the false prophets of Baal who prayed for the whole day calling upon a false god and with the wrong objective. Let’s pray like Elijah. (1 Kings 18: 26 and 36-37) Simple, short, clear and to the point. What is the beating about the bush for; you don’t know what lies there! I strongly support the statement by the Catholic John Cardinal Njue and all the Catholic Bishops including the Popes representative; that the matters relating to this election should be addressed objectively and urgently, even if it means a re-election. Now, that’s objectivity. But this ‘kelele tu woi, woi’ God help us, will not take make the problem go away by itself. Face the facts and let the truth be told. Leviticus 18: 11 – 13 Don’t waste God’s time, He has much else to do for the rest of the world, Kenya is not the worst that He has to deal with. So, let’s get over with it quick. Jeremiah 32: 27 ‘I am the LORD God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?’ Luke 12: 13 ( – 21) Parable of the Rich Fool And for our Muslim brethren, we shall pray the ‘Al-Badr’ persistently and fervently until things change in this country for the better. Mungu wetu ni Mungu wa ‘Haqi’. Dhuluma yatokana na yule anayepigwa mawe. Arise! God of Heaven and Earth; from heaven above, the earth below and from the four corners of the winds of the earth. Uphold the cause of the people of Kenya and let the nations know you are God Almighty who loves our country. Sande HR Activist VIHIGA Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
