Re: Thank you Matunda Mon, 7 Jan 2008 I have to say that Matunda Nyanchama article is very well written and balanced. Let us learn from the kikuyus and why they have prospered. Most of these kikuyus do not have any political connections but are entreprenurial even in the face of adversity. Many forget that kikuyus were still the most successful group during Moi's time in as much as Moi tried to eradicate their entrepreneriual spirit. When people want to burn institutions like Equity, Brookside and others simply because they are Kikuyu owned, they forger that these institutions mostly serve them. I am sure most kalenjins remember that only a few years ago, they were spilling their milk or giving it away for free for lack of market. Brookside set up shoo in North rift and this was a thing of the past. Equity bank in Eldoret and Kapsabet are the fastest growing branches in the country. And who is their clientele...is it not Kalenjins. Now they can access easy credit and finance their farming ventures. Resentment and jealousy will not take this country anywhere. Learn and see how you can mimic their success. Thank you Matunda Stephen Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
