Fri, 25 Jan 2008 05:41:13 -0800 (PST) Most of those killed are non Kikuyus Contrary to the general notion , most of those killed following the disputed poll results are not Kikuyus. In the Rift Valley , the Kalenjins were mainly concerned with chasing away the Kikuyus who had illegally occupied their land. The same happened in other parts of the country. They were then burning their houses once they( Kikuyus) are gone. They were not interested in killing anybody. But the Kikuyu grouped and armed themselves with machetes( pangas) and gans and started the Kalenjins indiscriminately. You will realise that most of those killed were either butchered( deep panga cuts) or shot. Traditionally Kalenjins fight using bows and arrows, and not pangas. Luos throw stones and rarely use pangas. Certain Kikuyus have resorted to indiscriminate killings in parts of Central Province , Nairobi, Nakuru and parts of Eldoret. This is a very dangerous precedent that will easily spark civil war. They should be informed that other Kenyans will also start killing them if they do not stop immediately. They should not think that they will get away with it just because because Kibaki has grabbed power through political Fraudulence. I challenge the Government and Human rights bodies to do their homework and get the facts rights. - Susan Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
