Please post this at jaluo.com *During my pre-teens, I happened to have over heard that Mwai Kibaki, then V.P, had been send by Daniel arap Moi to inform the hard working Gikuyu people to do their business in peace in Rift Valley and to forget politics because this (politics) would drive them (the Gikuyu) on a collision course with locals who resent their presence in Rift Valley. But Mwai Kibaki was reluctant and was still boozing and grumbling by **4pm** somewhere around **Oginga Odinga Street**, Eldoret. In fact someone had to be sent to tell him that he had kept the people waiting since morning. He walked reluctantly to the venue of the meeting. * * * *Sorry I don't know whether he delivered the message from his boss. What is important is that this man, Mr. Mwai Kibaki, seems not to understand the level of resentment people have against the Gikuyus, which Moi understood very well, and which is now on display for everyone to see – the fire engulfing almost all corners of the Republic of Kenya. * * * *I don't think this man, who is now at the helm, hands off President Mwai Kibaki, has the courage to read the writings on the wall and go. He may as well shot himself on the head like Adolf Hitler, and die in State House, ** Nairobi**. * * * *It s the ordinary people, the beautiful hard working people of Kenya in general, and poor innocent people, who are going to pay the ultimate price, and unfortunately with their lives. All these while those who have hired goons to make a mockery of the intelligence of Kenyans at the expense of tax payers money, and who should be arrested and put behind bars, and even hanged, remain at large and calling the shots. * * * *It is better to imprison the flesh but it is unfathomable that Mr. Kibaki choose to imprison our conscience. The worst part of it is the fact that Mr. Mwai Kibaki has bestowed the instruments of state power to his wife, and to someone I have no doubt he will set the house of his own mother on fire, Mr. John Michuki. And these people are thinking they have done their own people proud. They have ashamed **Kenya** and their own people. * * * *All Kenyans, including all people affliated to GEMA, which voted overwhelmingly for PNU, should spare the rod for the real criminals. ODM supporters should also stop acts of arson and lawlessness, unless in self defense.* * * *ODM has already said it does not trust the credibility of Kenyan Courts. What is the way out?* * * *Kibaki needs a way out. If he is sincere, let him instruct the Chief Justice of the Kenya Court of Appeal to take cognizance of reports in the press and elsewhere and initiate suo motu petition with the sole of ordering the Electoral Commission of Kenya, in the form of a Mandamus, to recount the votes cast by Kenyan voters on 27th December 2007. This process will take hardly a week to conclude. This is also a perfect way to allow Kibaki to climb down in an honorable way. * * * *Sylvester K.C. Toroitich* *India*** -- From Sylvester K.C.
