WAY FORWARD FOR KENYA Date:Tue, 15 Jan 2008 17:12:26 -0800 (PST) Yes, ODM won and here is what they should do in parliament to save our country from further decadence: 1. Make laws to separate powers of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government. 2.Set a permanent Election Day 3.Make laws to establish a representative, impartial and independent ECK capable of prosecuting election offenders, nullifying elections and answerable to parliament 4.Establish Truth And Restitution Commission to address abuses, corruption, nepotism, favoritism, assassinations, marginalization, deprivation, etc, since independence in 1963. 5.Reduce president's powers and privileges. 6.Make laws to eliminate provincial administration and replace it with elected leadership that is devolved. 7.Establish laws that empower parliament to vet all president's appointees beginning in 2002. 8.Re-introduce "Ketter Bill" to empower parliament run its own calendar and affairs independent of the other branches of government. 9.Put in place laws that ensure equal distribution of resources, appointments and promotions in civil service, police, army and parastatals. 10.Address the issue of land since 1963. Nullify illegally allocated burial grounds,roads reserves, beach fronts and any lands acquired illegally. 11. work to recover looted money stashed in accounts abroad. 12.Establish a parliamentary committee to investigate and report on clashes and police culpability. 13.Put in place laws to outlaw detention without trial and political imprisonment. 14.Outlaw capital punishment. 15.Empower local authorities to reverse illegal land deals within their jurisdictions. 16. Address inequality in education by setting up national schools in every province. 17.Review all international deals and treaties between Kenya and other countries since 1963. 18.Empower the country by seeking funds from outside and within to modernize railways and pave roads. Also strive to build a railway to Southern Sudan to transport oil products from there and commercial commodities from Kenya. 19.Establish trade commission that will handle matters of trade between Kenya and other countries. 20.Make laws to prosecute public servants who misuse public resources during elections. ODM has numbers and unflinching support all over the country to modernize our country untangle it from the rot that has asphyxiated it for over forty years. GO FOR IT ODM. GO!! J.K.
