Wed, 6 Feb 2008 05:58:50 RE: STOP THIEF!! Kalonzo Alert Hi, I refer to articles posted on http://www.jaluo.com on Wednesday regarding the call by ODM Kenyans in the USA to protest against the visit to Washington DC of the Vice President Mr. Kalonzo Musyoka. Those calling on the Kenyan community in Washington to turn up in large numbers to hold a march outside Washington DC against the VP¢s visit seem to be transferring the problems from Kenya to the USA. I have read the call to action by the ODM supporters and I believe that whoever is supporting the march is dishonest. Kalonzo has extended the visit to the USA as part of the national road to peace and reconciliation. It is within his right as a senior government official to spearhead the reconciliation process and for any section of the Kenyan community in the USA to oppose the visit is unfortunate. I expected the members of ODM in the USA to use the opportunity to register whatever dissatisfaction they may be having in government by holding dialogue with the VP but not to treat him with disrespect. I support the voice of reason that has been urging Kenyans in the USA who care for their country to turn out and support the VP. Let all Kenyans preach peace. Justice will definitely follow if you seek it peacefully. I am also concerned at the recent statement aired in a local Kenyan FM station by a section of the Kenya community abroad who claimed that they would continue supporting the protests in Kenya. I find this stance uncalled for. Why would you want to burn our country from abroad? Kenyans abroad, you are the elite. If you take sides in the struggle for democracy, we will not have a country to call home. Support dialogue. Regards, Aggey A. Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
