an isolated life!
Dear brothers and sisters, There are certain common mistakes that some of us in diaspora make that end up costing us,our family members, and the community a great deal. Here are some of them. 1. Once here, some of us do everything possible to isolate ourselves from our brothers and sisters. 2. Some of us make major decisions without consulting with others who might help us. 3. Some of us follow blindly allowing ourselves to be controlled and used by anything or anybody. 4. Some of us hide from family members, friends and the community. 5. Some of us easily adopt any supposedly new culture and disregard all that we were taught. 6. The often-quoted statement"We are in America" has misled many. As we all know, life in diaspora can be very tricky indeed. There is every need to connect with those who will most definitely help you when need be. Isolating ourselves by thinking that we have arrived has not worked and will never work. Do you see my point? Just a thought. - Pr Birai Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
