RE: This Election and Personality Ndugu zangu, The many who are advocating for either of the Presidential candidates have not met these personalities in person. We all depend on the media nd what we are told by others about these individuals. However, for some reason, Kenyans have a hunch on the right candidate and have good reasons for change. As you may have observed in the nominations, Kenyans are touchy about people who are genuinely concerned about their welfare. A people person is what they want. someone who has time for them and is accessible. Someone who speaks their 'language'. They do not care about those lofty ideologies or who is manning whose campaign, at the grassroots where some of us are those are irrelevant issues. Theyu want someone who can be trusted to bring those national resources to them at the grassroots in reasonable quantities. 'pnu' cannot do this now beccause they have been there for five years and the people have a fear that if they did not do it in five years, why on earth do they need another five!? The apprehension is that the second five years will be looting time. Mwananchi is so smart today and nobody is going to try their patience for five and get away with it. Talk of lessons, the outgoing MP's will tell you. I like Mutahi Ngunyi's choice of words: "it highly unlikely that Kibaki can win this election. However, Raila should be very careful not to loose this election" Whereas the Kibaki is waiting for a slip up, Raila is watching his every step so as not to goof. Who has a tougher task?
